Betadine – 50ml
A handy addition to your piggy first-aid kit!
Betadine is one of those useful little products we like to keep on hand at Miss Piggy’s Lair for minor skin and wound care.
An antiseptic solution, Betadine can be used diluted to gently clean small superficial sores, scabs and minor wounds, helping to keep the affected area clean while it heals. At the Lair, it may also form part of the care routine for piggies with suspected minor fungal skin problems, alongside appropriate veterinary advice where needed.
Size: 50ml
How to Use: Dilute Betadine with water to approximately a 1:10 solution, so that it is a light amber colour. Gently apply the diluted solution to the affected area with a clean cotton pad and allow it to dry.
Important:
Always dilute before use.
Avoid the eyes, mouth and other sensitive areas.
Do not use on mites or mite-related skin conditions.
Betadine shouldn’t replace veterinary treatment for significant wounds, persistent skin problems or an unwell guinea pig.
If you’re unsure what is causing a skin problem, have your piggy checked by a guinea pig-savvy vet before treating it at home.
